Yes - almost daily. Spurious SEO companies offering thousands of directory submissions, high PR backlinks and even hundreds of retweets. The sooner Google evolves to a point where the services that these idiots offer become completely redundant, the better.

Yep - I'd get signed up with SEOmoz straight away. Their analysis tools (even the free set) are invaluable for seeing how your website is doing and seeing what competitors websites are doing that you're not.

If you can get listed on DMOZ you're laughing. Takes a while but can really help with google rankings as lots of directories get their data from DMOZ.

The All in One SEO pack is great, but I've started using the WP SEO plugin by Yoast. It has a lot more features and even helps analyse the content of a of a page and makes suggestions to improve SEO. Sitemap generation is built-in too. First post btw - hello!
