Client: "If I get the brief to you by first thing, final copy to you by 11.20, photography by 1.10, final artwork back from you by 4.23 and we get sign-off by 4.45, can we get it printed tonight and couriered to the client event for breakfast?
Me: No! And not because I couldn't hit everyone of...
That's pretty much my conclusion. It's fine until you don't have control over final output, then it gets scary. Most of the agencies I deal with have relationships with good printers the problem comes when I work directly with clients Getting some of them to pay my time for a press pass is hard...
Cheers Hank. Sorry, should have clarified. I understand the technical aspects of the colour space, what I'm wondering is peoples experience of any problems and benefits and how they get on working with external suppliers. Leaving everything RGB until profiles are applied at the RIP stage...
Evening all. I recently had an interesting conversation with a studio manager who was contemplating moving all his agency workflow to wholly RGB.
We both know Adobe's opinion on doing it from the paper they produced a while back but neither of us know any studios who've fully committed.
Any...
Had to laugh at a current Edinburgh Gumtree ad for a freelance artworker:
Mac operator / artworker / designer | Leith | Gumtree
They want some poor bugger to camp out in their office full time for the privilege of doing the few hours of work a week they 'expect' to chuck them.
So, for the...
Sorry for seeing this late. I had an HP printer and got round it by peeling the little chips off the original HP inks and sticking them onto fake inks with double sided sticky tape. Bit fiddly but you only had to do it when you ran out.
Hi all
Is there any difference between the current Pantone Plus set that feature the 50th Anniversary logo (Purple and Orange) and the previous books (Green and Aqua)? Worried they've 'shuffled the pack' and changed colour values again.:icon_mad:
Thanks guys. Obviously I could recreate the effect but but if someone has gone to the trouble of producing a dedicated font already, I'd rather get that. The project I had in mind doesn't warrant the time/budget to recreate a new font. Cheers again all.
If there's no money in it then call their bluff and let them know that you're disappointed that they miss-understood your intentions but understand if they wish to cease co-operating further on the project while wishing them all the best on their enterprise and stress that, should they wish, you...
If you think there's still money to be made from them as a client, then it won't hurt to blow a little smoke up their arse to try to get them onside. I'd explain that, as a "highly experienced professional" you were "concerned that the current logo fails to successfully convey their brand in a...
Just wondering, has anyone done their 'folio as a book from the likes of Blurb or Apple? Revisiting Blurb recently they seem to have come on a bit with colour profiles, indesign templates etc. A 40pg, 33x28cm landscape, hardback would be around £60. I thought it might be really nice way to...
I do work for one well known financial services co. that use quark extensively. In fact they have spent a fortune on software that 'generates' docs in quark automatically by populating intricate templates with live financial info at the push of a button. Weird.
On the test front, if you're...
