The Page Rank is determined by the number of other pages on the net, which link to it, and the PR of each of those pages is factored in. Lots of links from pages which are themselves unranked, counts for not much. Just a few links from high PR pages will count for a lot more.

I'd be inclined to put one link to the new site, plus your logo, on the old site, with a message saying "we moved to... yada yada.". Monitor the taffic, and when the old site is no longer seeing much traffic, kill it completely. As it is now, it is a bit confusing.

Minor thing, but I would change the index page title from... <title>central London accommodation for students, student accommodation in central London</title> to just... <title>Student accommodation in Central London</title> or something like that.

I saw it as a tree the first time I looked at it, then as a pointer the second time. So, works well for me.

Not too keen on the name, sounds like someone sneezing.

I like #6, plus you could use #3 as the mono version of it.

I like it, distinctive and not too complex.
