Hi there, I'm a third year student currently starting my dissertation which I've decided the title will be 'Fashion through advertisements, can we see that society has changed through these?'. Ive done lots of research already but have sort of come to a brick wall so if anyone has any advice...
I do artwork, advertising and deal with submitted artwork for a newspaper and would thoroughly recommend switching to illustrator for artwork, the quality will be much better (the ability to work with vectors) and to be able to output to PDF/EPS. Might even be able to save money by still using...
As the text is justified there will always be hyphens within the text, turning off hyphenation removes the hyphens altogether, it's a tick box in the Paragraph palette and the Hyphenation section of the Paragraph Styles window.
However as you're justifying you're going to run into problems...
While They may never see it or sue... ethically it's wrong and the start of a rocky road. If you do it once, you'll be tempted to do it again.
If you're really having problems with the fireplace logo. Have you started from the basics? Sketches, word association, looking at local competitors...
It happens, I'm kind of used to it now ><
Nice reply though, as much as everyone can say we love what we do, which is of course important, one still has to pay the bills. I'm sure you'll do fine :)
sad but true :(
I asked for a raise a couple weeks ago, my employer laughed at me and said they'd rather I freelanced in my downtime (there's little downtime and I signed a contract to say I wouldn't do that) and that they'd have layout setters, who earn more than I do, create adverts to save...
Gosh had so many of those, it amounted to slave labour (but some good portfolio pieces). They always chose the 'interesting' choices. Also shows that clients shouldn't be allowed options lol
They do look awesome, especially berry's example, I can imagine they're brilliant for illustrators.
But as above, I love the idea of them but change up/add new work far too often.
Great idea for some personal projects though hmm!
A few more details would help, but it's undetstandable that you either can't or don't wish l share more. Things like how your work has improved, the type of work/clients you deal with and if you have any idea what your colleagues get paid.
Best of luck with the negotiations :) I hope you...
Would not is a bit tame. Do not use a 72dpi image especially if you're enlarging it.
What is the image of, if it's a logo you'll want a vector image (ai eps cdr etc) for crispness. If it's a photo request the original
I see your point, but the bokeh just seems a bit tutorial like, if you don't mind me saying. Why not have an image that is more relevant to what the page is about, if you want something. Or a nice piece of typography — nothing wrong with consistency, but break it up a little.
Just seems a bit...
