    Help!! Personal Logo Critique

I'd ignore your tutor, everyone has their own tastes and you will never ever produce something everyone likes. Definitely sort out the gap between the J and the M, apart from that, it looks good.. nice work!

Anyone recommend any improvements on this?

Looks good, can you soften the lighting at all? not sure what options are in Cinema 4D but i would imagine you can soften the shadows and highlights. That might solves the issue.

    Logo design for PGD

What does the company do? I agree with Tony, the globe thing is a little overdone. The best logos always at least hint at what it is the company does.. is there a way to incorporate that?

    Advertising

Awesome use of that smiley face! lol :icon_biggrin: I would also suggest getting yourself some printed marketing materials, business cards, leaflets, brochures etc... make them completely awesome and as creative as possible then get them out to businesses in your local area. Show off your skills!

what do i do if i have no testimonials

This is a good idea. You get to test out your skills, do something for a good cause and receive some testimonials.

    Social Networking (Google+)

I've noticed pages i have "liked" or +1'd through Google are appearing a lot more often with other searches. Google+ is Google's version of Facebook. Google is the world's largest search engine, makes total sense to me that they will integrate both so i agree Google+ will definitely play quite a...

How successful is Social Networking for you?

Completely agree with this. I see a lot of companies making the mistake of constantly trying to sell on twitter/facebook etc. A few company twitter accounts are just tweet after tweet of offers and promotions. They aren't ENGAGING with anyone. The clue is in the name.. SOCIAL media.. it is a...

    Logos - critique please

Second or third (with some tweaks) for me, i don't like the first option.. it feels a bit.."clipart-ish" to me, but it only matters what your client thinks :) ask 100 people, get 100 different opinions, you can't please everyone, only the client matters!

Link Exchange - PR4+, anyone interested?

I know this is an old thread, but i googled link exchange and found it so im resurrecting it! I don't understand PR, someone said to me the higher your PR the higher up you appear for your search terms. However i have PR1 and PR0 sites appearing above me and im a PR2 :icon_confused: Epic...

Graphic Design - Do I need drawing skills?

I can't draw... actually, i can't even read my own handwriting haha So long as you can sketch out basic logo concepts and ideas you will be fine. No one else needs to see them, they are usually just to scan in so you have a rough outline when you start to create the logo digitally.

    Naming your Graphic Design Business

Some tips here - Choosing a business name - things to consider | After Hours Creative I have had a really good response to my company name (After Hours Creative) and branding so i'll share a little bit about it. When choosing a name i avoided anything to do with my personal name, with a...

    Setbacks.

I'm glad someone wrote about it! happens to everyone at some point so don't let it get you down! A clear design brief and a good relationship with your client can reduce situations like this. Projects usually go wrong when the brief is vague, the client is undecisive and very picky. If client...
