As I can't directly upload a photo here, please use this link to view the logo which I've posted in a facebook gallery....should be the first thing you see posted on the wall - (ignore the splash page!)

It's a finished logo design for a flooring company, which accompanied some general brand identity - although I've completed the project and the client is happy, I've always learnt a lot from looking back at my past work and reviewing how it might be improved... Please give me your suggestions and let me know what you like, what you don't like & what you might do differently :)

Look forward to hearing your comments

P.s please no flaming... saying "you suck, I'm suprised someone paid for this" is hardly going to help me improve as a designer, or make you any friends! :p

No-one does that on here.

It looks fine to me, nothing spectacular, but then it's a flooring company, so why should it? One thing is bugging me though. The squares with the letters in are not in the middle. I'm lining it up with the word 'Birmingham' underneath. There's a lot more of the right side of the square sticking over the edge of the 'M' than there is the left side over the edge of the 'B'. Attention to detail is everything, no matter how big or small is it. I get annoyed when i see something out of place by 1 pixel!

Hmm yes you have a point there... strange this was missed, as I used a grid for the layout and it usually snaps to center. Perhaps the angle on the squares threw me off center - as the TF is dead center but obviously the squares are heavy on the right.. I think I can get away with this as the effect is that the square is at an angle to the letters inside anyway - but in hindsight yes I'm inclined to agree with you it would be better centered as a whole, rather than the type all centered and the squares slightly offset.

Thank you for the critique :)
