Logo design help - Florals and embellishments?

Hello,

I am in no way a professional graphic designer, but have started creating logos for small local businesses, as a service offered in my business.

I get a fair amount of requests for florals on logos and/or other embellishments. I've attached a few examples I have found online for reference. Can I please ask your advise on these... How are they usually created? It is a case of producing the artwork and creating a print? are there available downloads? not sure where to start really from a designers point of view.

I am aware there are websites where you can purchase images, photoshop brushes and vectors however when I read the licencing information, most if not all state they can not be used within branding, trademarks and logos even after payment.

Thanks!

Most of those three are 'watercolour' and likely hand done, although probably a digital version of the process instead of painting it.

Process varies but essentially you'll be 'painting' each part of the leaves and flowers.

Thanks, I did think this was probably the case.

Highly suggest you sub-contract the design work to a graphic designer. Take a cut and everyone is happy.

Yes, it's not really ethical to use stock images, certainly not in their entirety, for logos as they will have been used numerous times elsewhere. Plus, that style of illustration
is not particularly suited to logos anyway. As you can see from the thumbnails, most of the subtle detail will disappear when small and they will not be scalable like vectors.

Besides that - for some stock sites, it's not about ethics, it's the legality of the EULA (which is the Licesnse agreement when you sign up, or download any of the images).

Always check the license of the stock image if it can be used in a logo - it usually cannot.

And using a part of it is still a violation - the 'I changed it 90%' doesn't apply. You cannot use any of it, and that's just copyright.

Luckily the OP reads the T&C's :p

Absolutely this. You can actually find very capable designers on the internet if you do your research. Just make sure you're very specific with your brief

Illustrations SHOULD NOT be used as logos. Logos have to be used is so many ways and at every conceivable size and in ever print / reproduction method available.
Here is a youtube channel dedicated to the Core Principles of logo design: link removed - Levi, moderator
