D&Ad Logo

What's everyone's opinion on this logo? I think I've mentioned before that I think it's horrendous, surely I'm not the only one?

I get the hexagonal shape because it's supposed to resemble the bottom of a pencil (the trophy you win is a giant pencil) but the text... what were they thinking? Does anyone know who designed it, just out of curio20201112_122230.jpgsity?

Interested to hear your thoughts?

Personally, I've always hated that logo.
I always wondered about how it came to be as well?

I kind of imagined that they'd got some big name designer to make it and they threw it together whilst everyone applauded like some "The Emperor's New Clothes" kinda thing.

Never been a big fan of industry awards either.

God I sound negative and resentful! ;)

I just don't understand how they can judge other people's work when that logo is the face of their organisation!

I think about it way more than I should. It really does bother me haha.

I thought it was just me.

I remember reading the Creative Review and my soul used to make a little groaning noise when I'd turn the page and see another D&DA article.

I think with things like this they always seem to take a confusing, avant garde approach in the same way that they do with olympic logos.

Not just you, I definitely share your opinion, and I'm sure there's others out there!

It reminds me of the tacky WordArt I used to use in primary school. Vom.
