What type of payment do you accept?

Hi there! My name is Pierre, I am new to this forum. I created an account as I am just starting my career as Designers in freelance and I am struggling to get paid in time, as most of the time, my clients say bank transfer is a hurdle. They usually ask me if I could accept cash or take the credit card, but I don't want to pay any extra fees or carry cash with me. Do you know any other free payment solution? A friend mentioned the app Banked could do that on the App Store. Have you tried them before? Do you know any other easy solutions? Thanks a lot
:-)

Just like @hankscorpio suggested, I take money anyway I can.

PayPal works well for me as many of my clients are from outside the UK.

Bank transfers aren’t a hurdle, they take seconds to set up and complete.

And fees are a necessary part of doing business, just as paying taxes an insurance are.

As above.

Just wondering what kind of clients you have if a bank transfer is a hurdle!!

Bank Transfers usually... non UK can also do this with iban and bic numbers which most business accounts have as standard but you may incur some fees.

I'll take cash/cheques (must clear first) but honestly the majority of my clients are fine with bank transfers....

Have been looking into card reader but honestly not sure how much I'd use or trust doing that on site.

While I have paypal via my personal account I can't say I've ever used it for work payment.

Most of mine pay by bank transfer, as I do my suppliers. It is far easier. If they want to pay with other methods, so be it. The only thing I discourage is cheques, though one or two still do. However they want to pay is fine. That they pay is the important thing. A lot of it is about building a relationship with your clients.

Debit/Credit Cards
Cheques
Bank Transfer - A lot of companies will only pay via BACS

PayPal is just too expensive for us still.

With some banks. it can take quite a while to process bank transfers. One of my clients told me he was with HSBC where you could only process the first bank transfer from the desktop. That's what some of them told me anyway...

Thanks a lot for your answers everyone. Quite impressed how much answers I got, and the cannabis option is one I didn't think of, but will definitely consider . In the end, I did some more researches and did give a try to the Banked app.
First feeling is that it's pretty practical, I send a link that I create with the app to my clients, and they can pay me by just clicking on it and go through a quick process. A bit like Paypal but free. Payment is real time as well, no need to wait for 3 days like BACS to receive the money. The only negative I would think of right now is that I always have to explain to my clients what's exactly this link is about as most of them have never seen this in the past, and this is quite painful, but clients seem to like it once they have gone through the process the first time. I will post an other update in a few weeks if I have more to share, positive or negative.
Thanks again everyone, appreciate it :)

I can think of another one and for me it's a massive issue... it's iOS only, no desktop option for windows/OS-x, no android app which to me makes it pretty useless.

I can get something similar to the banking app directly from my bank and that should work on android (had no need to install it)... it's also free to use

BACS doesn’t take 3 days. it’s immediate and free.

However, I have a sneaking suspicion that the OP is trying to slip in a bit of free marketing for this app.

Ha yes, good point! I have an iPhone, didn't realise it was not on Android.
