I recently (ish) wrote a blog post on browser testing which you / others might find useful...

When not at my primary machine where I can use virtual machines via VMware on my Mac, I tend to use Adobe's new Browser Lab. It gives much quicker results than Browsershots (with a free account anyway).

Yup, have used this myself, only trouble is, it only shows you a screen grab of the home page.
