I have stumbled across them in the past and need to find some suitable options again.....

I would like to find a on-line resource to purchase off the shelf websites like auctions sites, classified ads sites, social networking sites etc.

Can anyone shine any light or know of any good places to look?

SocialGo is pretty good for building a social networking site and there is always a hosted Wordpress site for blogs etc.

Hello,

There's usually white label solutions out there for most of the well-known websites. Your best bet is to Google for things such as "*site* clone" i.e.

ebay clone / ebay clone script etc.
youtube clone
etc.

Short of that, it'll be a bespoke job.
