    Mailto

Am I right in thinking that the mailto tag creates issues for some people?

What's the right way to handle links to email? By using both the actual address and the tag itself?

The issue with mailto is if users don't have a default mail client on their machine. Because more and more people use GMail, AOL, Hotmail etc it throws their machine off as it starts searching for Outlook or similar and that can trigger dialogue boxes etc. That can very frustrating for a user. The answer, in my opinion, is to use a contact form

I've just been displaying the email address as text, with it linked also.

And then, a contact form underneath :)

E-mail address is fine for people to copy and paste. Just take the mailto link off it. If people wanna make contact, they will.
