What ways to make sure App will not get rejected?

One of my friend ask me about App which won't get rejected and he said: Apple is notorious for rejecting apps. There was even an extensive fury when the Google Voice app was rejected from the store back in SEP, 09. Few of the common but not mostly obvious reasons for app rejection included The Copying existing functionality, Private Frameworks or APIs, Beta.
What should I tell him??

And finally, study Apple's App Guidelines to ensure the app doesn't get rejected for something trivial. Note that even if your app does get rejected they will give you a reason, to which you can respond if you need further details, and you can simply re-submit :)
 
Yea, we have submitted several apps that initially get rejected for some stupid reason, then a week or two later it gets though.
What is funny is when they actually admit they were wrong and say sorry for wasting our time :p
