What kind of image do I need to look for to do this?

Hi All!

My name is Steven and I am located in Berkeley, CA USA. I am a singer and I am creating some artwork for my SoundCloud page as well as my YouTube Channel and to put at the top of emails I send out that are related to my studio.

Since I live close to the water, I call my studio 'Bayside Studios'...

I already have an graphical header that I put on top of each email. What I want to do is find online an image of an anchor. BUT, I want the anchor showing but the image that is already there to show as well, I guess as if there was no background of the image...

What I want to know is what is the type of image I am looking for called so I can do a proper Google Search, or, can someone refer me to a website where I can get what I am looking for?

You'd need an image with a transparent such as a PNG. Or better yet an SVG you can insert over the top. I wouldn't just use an image from Google image search. Try and find one without copyright restrictions, or better yet pay for a stock image you can use.
