Done some reading here about adobe's new cloud apps, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
Anybody doing work with those apps and is it worthwhile?
Thanks for any replies in advance.

Yes - but some people consider them to be expensive as it's a monthly or a yearly fee - whichever you sign up for.

They are the professional design studio tools that almost every professional design and print studio use.

However, Affinity by Serif is fast becoming a competitor, with Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo (similar to Illustrator and Photoshop respectively). They will also have Affinity Publisher in the future, which would be akin to InDesign.

There are other free substitutes for Adobe Apps

Illustrator
Inkscape - https://inkscape.org/en/

Photoshop
Gimp https://www.gimp.org/

InDesign
Scribus https://www.scribus.net/

However, these are not widely used by professional printers/design agencies - and you may incur additional fees for sending files in their native format.

For websites/interfaces another popular contender is Sketch, but like Adobe CC this has a subscription licensing model.

Yes, they are, I think one of the best important things to use Adobe products is the industry standard. They are better for source files.

Adobe products are great but expensive. There's nothing quite as good as them except for Affinity products which are quite impressive and not subscription based. We've tried Quark (which we had abandoned for InDesign years ago) to give it a second try but found it restrictive in comparison to ID.

If you're starting out then the Adobe range is a must knowledge wise as most studios will use one or many of their Apps.
