So I'm researching German Architect Hans Scharoun and this is the only quote I've found :

Both buildings are based, like all tasks, on the determination to grasp the object purely in its nature - ‘purely’ means the ‘natural’ solution of the task.

I understand it to be find this direct solution and use that, or find the most obvious solution and use that

I'm really mot sure what to make of it.

    Thank You !

it's not that difficult a quote. It's just saying find the best solution to fit the task.

both buildings were/are created to fit their surroundings/environment?

why don't these arty types just speak plain english? Or maybe the german translation is bad? Like Jason said, it's all Seagulls and Trawlers.
