Viewing white (paper) objects in InDesign - transparency grid?

I'm editing some white text on an InDesign master, and can't find a way to easily do it, as the master page background is also white. Illustrator has the 'transparency grid' which really helps.

Any ideas? (yes I could put a box behind the text, edit, then delete it, but that seems like a clunky workaround :) )

Thanks Greg - the document grid kind of works, but I can't get the grid fine enough to show the white text boxes clearly. No matter, I'll submit to to the ID feature request site.
