Best Impressions is the leading design and marketing agency working in the UK public transport industry today. To help us design our award-winning vehicle liveries and information and marketing material, we are looking for a designer/artworker to join our busy team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

You will be required to undertake a wide range of design duties, which could include any of the following:
  • photo retouching
  • drawing/editing maps
  • analysing, typesetting and formatting timetable and other information
  • assisting with website design
  • leaflet layout
  • poster and advert design
  • preparing documents for production.
REQUIREMENTS

While specific experience is not required, we are looking for someone with the following skills and qualities:
  • a solid knowledge of the workings of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign),as well as Quark Xpress and the Mac operating system in general
  • basic knowledge of web design in HTML (mostly using Dreamweaver)
  • an interest in the public transport industry and a willingness to learn – about buses, trains, or anything else required
  • the ability to design intelligently, analysing and interpreting information in the process
  • the ability to work quickly and accurately, with an eye for detail and calmness under pressure
  • an interest in maps, geography and UK tourist destinations.
We are ideally looking for someone who would like to make a career at Best Impressions, but is willing to start at the bottom, being trained in our house style(s) and gradually taking greater creative responsibility for projects as time goes by. The position will provide a thorough grounding in and valuable experience of various aspects of practical design, print media and technology, as well as other production techniques.

starting salary: £21,500 negotiable - If you have suitable experience at a more advanced level, we would consider making an appointment at a higher level.

start date: mid-July, or as soon as possible afterwards

The job is based in Shepherd's Bush, West London.
