Using HDTV with Photoshop?

Hi, I just bought a Toshibe 32" HDTV and I want to use it as a monitor to design with.

I've got it hooked up but it slightly stretches my images horizontally. Is there any way to put this right?

Can anybody help?

change the resolution of your pc/laptop to match the screen - check the specs of the screen it will be something like 1920x1080 or 1366x768 if it's a proper HDTV and not a hd ready one.
 
Chances are your computer screen will look stretched, but it will look fine on the television. Unless you turn off mirroring, which just makes your tv screen an extension of your current one, and not a duplicate. That way you can drag windows to and from your television.
 
Ok cool, I have played with the resolution, that didn't help, I'll try turning mirroring off. cheers :x
