Transferring Web Hosting / Backing up emails

Hey all,

Has anyone experience of transferring hosting for a website and backing up emails? I have a website that will have about about 6 email addresses attached to it and wondering how difficult the process maybe, or whether to leave the hosting where it is.

I've done it in the past, I just download the lot in outlook and then back up the ,pst file. I'm normally IMAP so I just change it to pop3 and then it's downloaded to the pc.

I can then reimport the .pst as needed. I've sort of started doing this yearly anyway just in case - you never know :)
 
Thanks for your replies on this. Just trying to ascertain from the various employees what email client they are using, or webmail and forwarding and so on. I'm sure it will be a mixture...
