slideshow using externally hosted images.

I am freaking out trying to figure this out!

I was just going to use the standard flickr slideshow, but the background colour is auto set to black and I need it to be white.

What I need to do is make a slideshow that uses images from flickr (for example) and I have control over the background.

I have seen on a few boards people mentioning slideshows built using tags, and that I could work with!

Any ideas, pointers, help would be appreciated.
 
there is a little more php than I have ever used, but I am game to learn.

The first example of what I am working on probably isn't going to need a slide show it seems.
