This is a great opportunity to work for a prestigious company that has an international presence and which has recently diversified into new channels. As the Senior Product Designer you will have a strong creative flair, a meticulous eye for detail and the ability to juggle multiple projects successfully.
Thinking creatively this role will see you produce new ideas and concepts for product development in tight timeframes, taking these ideas from concept (CAD & mock up) through to design and artwork ready for print. You will be working part of a team with printers, photographers, other designers, sales force, web developers and the marketing team. You will also be the line manager for one junior designer.
The successful candidate will have the following skills:
- Presenting finalising ideas and concepts to various departments
- Designing point of sale material and sales support documents
- Updating existing artwork for reprints
- Review final layouts and suggest improvements as needed
- To keep abreast of creative design related trends and competitors’ work
- Working with a wide range of media, including photography and computer-aided design (CAD)
- Keeping abreast of emerging technologies and software
- Proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality work
- Have excellent knowledge of pre-press processes and experience dealing with printers
- Attending press passes with various suppliers
Key attributes:
Creative, Commercial, Pragmatic, Enthusiastic and passionate, Work well under pressure/to deadlines
Self starter / take ownership of projects.
Knowledge of:
Highly proficient in using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, In-design, Acrobat and Microsoft
Different print processes
Packaging design/product development
Illustration skills an advantage but not essential
Website development an added advantage
Qualification:
Relevant graphic design diploma or product degree
Experience:
Mid to senior level designer Agency or in-house experience
Transport:
It is essential you have your own transport as the offices are located just outside Milton Keynes. Commutable from Northampton, Towcester, Buckingham and Luton.
