CALL TO ARTISTS, GRAPHIC DESIGNERS AND PHOTOGRAPHERS, WHAT DOES REALITY LOOK LIKE TO YOU? We are looking for a creative to design the cover artwork for the 2013 festival brochure. SMHAFF are one of the largest anti-stigma festivals in the world, we aim to challenge people’s perceptions of mental health and promote positive mental health and well-being through high quality arts events, we currently work with 17 regions across Scotland, attracting annual audiences of over 15,000. This year’s festival theme is ‘reality’ or ‘my reality‘ and we are looking for a creative to design the cover artwork for the 2013 festival which will take place in October. Our creative brief is very broad, with the judges looking for the artist’s representation of ‘reality’ or ‘my reality’. Reality is different for everyone, and we will be looking for an image which portrays this whilst conveying the overall themes of the festival to a large and diverse audience. As well as a cash prize of £150, the winning artist will work with design agency O Street to feature their work on the cover of the festival programme. The programme is a listing of some 250 festival events which take place across Scotland in October. 15,000 printed copies are distributed via arts venues, clubs and public spaces. In addition the image will be profiled online and via marketing and promotional material for the festival. The winning artist will be given full credit in all of the mentioned materials. Entries must be a digital image, but we are setting no limitation on what that image is of, whether a photograph, graphic design, painting or other medium. The only limitation is that it must be submitted as a digital image in a pre-specified format (see terms and conditions). Entry form and terms and conditions can be viewed here: CALL TO ARTISTS, GRAPHIC DESIGNERS AND PHOTOGRAPHERS, WHAT DOES REALITY LOOK LIKE TO YOU? The closing date for entries is Friday 26[SUP]th[/SUP] April 2013.
