rip software ?

Senior Member

I've been looking into getting better quality prints from my Epson R2880. I've discovered that my files are Vectors, so I have purchased the Epson Photo quality matt paper that matches the printer print resolution of 1400dpi. On another forum, somebody suggested the because my printer isn't a postscript and I'm working with vectors, that I could use 'rip software' to produce a pure print.

I have limited knowledge of this type of thing (I'm a student Architect not graphics designer!)... Do I need to use rip software if I have a vector (exported from CAD at 4800DPI PDF) since it's a vector anyway ?

Thank you for your help. This forum is the best place for all things technical!
