Hey there!
I Know I just joined in, and the first thread I posted was a request, but I'm seriously IN need of a website logo. I've been trying to learn Photoshop for little time, but I'm just hopeless. I just don't fit into that kinda thing. And my website really needs a professional logo, logo's are first impressions, and at the moment the first impressions is pretty bad...
If you someone here at this forum could create a logo for me, free of charge, I would be really, REALLY, Happy!
What Do I Request?
The website is mainly targeted to Gamers, Computing, Programming, thus tech in General.
The website is called 7ECH. And the main purpose of the number "7" is that its suppose to be the letter "T".
Which I think is cool, and unique. I somehow would like that number be merged into a "T". Or literally anything else, that fits. Also getting a logo, would create a reputation to my forum, making them be like:
- Ah, thats 7ech!
Which it isn't at the moment...
I dont have any preferences of what kind of size, color, font etc to use as im really noob at this.
But something that fits my website style/theme color would be absolutely awesome.
WEBSITE LINK: http://7ech.net/
Thanks in advance,
xSaber

[SRRY IF ITS THE WRONG SECTION, I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT FIT THE MOST, IF ITS NOT ALLOWED WITH REQUEST THEN SIMPLY REMOVE MY THREAD AND SAY IT TO ME SO I KNOW FOR NEXT TIME! :D]

Can we have some fun with this.... please can we just have some fun ^_^

ok... here's my first go.... just replace the original file 'logo' file as it's the same size etc
yeahqo.png

I took inspiration after reading this bit....But something that fits my website style/theme color would be absolutely awesome.
edit just in case the transparency is lost I've attached the file too
I'm off to bed now so I'll try some more tomorrow, everyone esle feel free to join in :)

Its a good start Levi, but it doesn't really say 'tech' to me or have enough colours. I really like BIG logos as well.
I thought turning the 7 around would be cool.

BTW, dafuq
did you mean??

I think what he meant was simply to have some fun with the design. Levi loves designing logos so much, I've heard he often does it for free.

I've heard that too, I also think a font like comic sans could suit this concept well...

Thats really ugly......

I hate to break it to you: You won't get good designers designing for free. It mocks our jobs and the role that many of us have worked for years to achieve. For many of us, designing is our job. You can't go to a shop and ask for something for free. So, please wake up and join the real world. To be blunt but honest, the only thing that you have accomplished is to insult those with the very skills you need to make your brand successful. I tweeted very recently:
#ThingsThatIrritateMe People that ask for a FREE logo. A budget should be representative of your business. What does that tell me about you?
'In many countries, there are almost twice as many neurosurgeons as there are professional illustrators. There are eleven times as many certified mechanics. There are SEVENTY times as many people in the IT field.

So, given that they are less rare, and therefore less in demand, would it make sense to ask your mechanic to work on your car for free? Would you look him in the eye, with a straight face, and tell him that his compensation would be the ability to have his work shown to others as you drive down the street?

Would you offer a neurosurgeon the “opportunity” to add your name to his resume as payment for removing that pesky tumor? (Maybe you could offer him “a few bucks” for “materials”. What a deal!)

Would you be able to seriously even CONSIDER offering your web hosting service the chance to have people see their work, by viewing your website, as their payment for hosting you?

If you answered “yes” to ANY of the above, you’re obviously insane. If you answered “no”, then kudos to you for living in the real world.

But then tell me… why would you think it is okay to live out the same, delusional, ridiculous fantasy when seeking someone whose abilities are even less in supply than these folks?

Graphic artists, illustrators, painters, etc., are skilled tradesmen. As such, to consider them as, or deal with them as, anything less than professionals fully deserving of your respect is both insulting and a bad reflection on you as a sane, reasonable person. In short, it makes you look like a twit.' (From an article by a designer on another forum).
Look at the image by Colin Harmon below.
Please increase some respect for the designers on this forum and rethink how you want to put your business across to us designers and the rest of the world.

you had to go and ruin it for us didn't you..... I was going to do some more cracking designs :).... I'd already used comic sans in the first one... which would look great on the background on the site lol
See I've gone and made this absolutely top notch, highest quality, use all the filters and the most dodgy font possible logo :)

Sorry Mate, I couldn't bear the disrespect any longer. Loved your one though :p

your forum is dead, you have a total of 11 members and only one, you, post anything.....in other words theres no one to advertise to making the advert worthless....be realistic about this.... a brand identity (which this is, it's not just a logo) can go for £1000's

Can I get a decent logo by putting some designforums.co.uk advertisements on my forum? :/
If you are so serious about getting your forum off the ground, you need to set a side a budget and plan out what the future holds. Anyway, the vast majority designers here do not own shares of DesignForums and therefore you would in effect not be giving the actual designer anything in exchange for a brand identity.
I specialise in brand identity design, and I could work with you, but you need to meet my pricing requirements. Its how the world works. Levi is correct: Even if you ask me on a good day, you wouldn't be looking at getting an identity for much less than a grand.

Okey, well I think a Administrator can close this thread :)
I know understand how giving out logo's for free is just stupidity.
Thanks for all the reply's even the really kind ones!
