Naked Portfolio Site

Hi

So i'm building a portfolio site at the minute but i realised apart from the 4-5 sites built for assignments i've done at uni which didn't have to go live i've not really got content i do have a few photomanipulations but thats not really relevant.

My question is are there any tips i can use make the pages seem less bare?
 
If it's a portfolio site/page some (myself included) would argue that it's better to have it 'bare' to put the emphasis on your own work.
 
Less is more and all that. Go for a more minimal typographic layout in white, grey and black and just showcase 6-10 pieces. The colours will sing on a minimal design....
 
disappointed... thought there would be naked pictures :p

as said go for the more minimalist approach.. it's not as easy as it sounds though
 
Yh this is the problem i'm having i want to keep it minimalist but i'm struggling to find neat little touches and animations throughout the pages without blatently stealing someone else's design. do you have any pointers to make the little interactions that are on there seem "effective" (if you understand what i mean)
