Hello all, I am about to embark on a redesign of my website: International Food Safety & Quality Network so I wanted to start by refreshing my logo first.

You can see the current logo at the web page above and a derivative below.

I wanted to change the current logo and I have done a rubbish mock up of what I want (attached) - to get over the concept.

The reason for the design change is it says (and includes) everything.

    1. The website address and members know us as IFSQN
    2. It says our full name underneath International Food Safety & Quality Network
    3. Includes the wheel image, the website is about food safety and the wheel image represents the concept of farm to fork food safety. The first quadrant is a tractor, the second quadrant is a food factory, the third is a shop serving food and the fourth is a fork

I have the wheel image drawn as a psd already (for reuse)

Is my idea good? An Improvement? What would I need to have a graphic suitable for use on the website, incorporated into header design and for printed materials.
And how much would it cost?

I am also open to other ideas etc.

    Thanks for your consideration.

    Regards,
    Taff

It would need to be created as a vector image rather than a PSD so you can scale it up or down without losing quality. This isn't possible as a PSD as you will get pixelation.

Overall I think the idea needs simplifying. The images inside the wheel will be pretty much illegible at small scales. I think the identity needs to be simplified, and built around these icons, with them having prominence.

With regards to cost, it depends on your budget and the individual designer's hourly rates.

    Hi Taff,

I agree with Paul, including 4 icons within the 'O' sounds like it's going to be impossible to view at smaller scales. Simplifying the concept by having a single icon within the 'O' could work better. I'm based just down the road in Chorley if you would like me to prepare a quote, drop me a message via the contact form on my website.

    Good luck,

    Luke

I agree with the above two comments. PSD would be no good. It needs to be a bit simpler with the icons not placed inside the 'Q'. You probably don't need the word 'The' either. I can do this redesign for you. I will PM you shortly.
