Licensed images

Hi there!

If I put together a document or Powerpoint slideshow for a client and I use and (pay for) licensed images – e.g. from Adobe Stock – can my client then publish my work without having to get the licence themselves? A compliance department is saying 'No', but I wanted confirmation.

Depends on the license.

Most have a non transferable ownership while some have the 'ok to give to clients if it's used as part of but not all of your work' type clause.

Can I buy an asset for a client, or do they need to create their own account?


You can purchase an asset on behalf of a client. However, please note that if you want to use the same asset for different clients, the asset must be licensed separately for each client use.
