Large Format with reasonable running costs?

We currently have a Canon W6400.

It was plainly designed solely to make Canon a fortune in cartridges / maintenance tanks, print cost on the face of it is fine but factor in all the cleaning of itself it does and it becomes prohibitive. It currently isn't printing yellow, the cost of a printhead and the filling cycle that will accompany fitting one is such that I am more motivated to get a new printer.

Is there a printer that will serve us well for occasional A1 prints? Resolution isn't a massive issue - we mainly print text based posters for our shop window so don't need photo quality.

I'm after something reliable, not wasteful with constant cleaning cycles, reasonable priced consumables and for when it becomes necessary a reasonable priced printhead.
    Does such a beast exist?

In answer to my own question it would seem i'd be better off with a Epson.
