Is this font 1980s

I’ve used this font in a logo which the client thinks looks like a 1980s computer game. I disagree but interested what others think.

It's definitely informal. In the wrong context it could look dated too.

It really depends on the context of the logo - what do they do?
There are nicer rounded fonts out there.

Looks a little Reck It Ralph, could work with a little playing around 3D depth etc.Hows it being used?

I can't say it suggests 80's to me at all.

To me it feels more like a retro sign font but that's just me.
Maybe 40's or something?

Yeah like the treatment of these fonts a lot, that’s what makes them work.

It is for a logo refresh only 3 letters being used. For a commercial truck dealership. I liked the squareness of the letters without being too harsh

I think you would have to sell the whole retro thing to them, use muted colours etc.
Would it look better italicised and/or expanded?
