InDesign Help IDML

Hi Guys,

I'm running Adobe InDesign CS5 - my client has CS4 and wants a copy of the artwork I've created to edit. Obviously he can't open my .indd file so I tried exporting to .IDML but still cannot open the file.

Any ideas what I need to do so he can open it on an older copy of InDesign.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers
Steve

You need to export as an InDesign Interchange (INX) file. Usually works for me when I go between CS4, CS3 and CS1

Hi Becky,

thanks - I can't see this option on CS5 - it doesn't appear to be in Export. Whereabouts is the option to save or export to INX?

thanks
Steve

I believe the .IDML file replaced the INX file in the upgrade from CS4 to CS5 - this is the equivilant of what I supplied to my client however he claims he cannot open it.

From Indesign CS5, exporting to a .IDML file will allow it to open in CS4. From CS4, you can then save that file as a .INX file and that will open in CS3.
