How to create x-ray images?

Hi Guys.

Anyone know the easiest way of create/rendering an image like this of the skeleton on the left?

OrthoTec Europe - The Annual Pan-European Meeting Place For Orthopaedic Design and Manufacturing Professionals

Assume it might be a 3d construction and render?

you'd need to use a 3d program to build it, though I think you can get something like that in vector format from iStock i think
