I was wondering if you could help me. I am in the process of starting my own studio and have been asked to contact some designers by my mentor and I was wondering if you could answer a couple of questions for me?
What made you decide to become a freelancer/run your own studio?
How did you get your first client in?
How do you get work in, do you advertise?
Did you have or do you have a target market?
How did you decide how to price your work at first and how do you do it now?
If a client tries to haggle how do you deal with this?
Do you have many direct competitors in your local area?
What advice would you give me about starting up?
