I spose the next thing to consider then is whether they want this to become a fashion brand too.

It rimarily needs to be worn by surfers/skaters, and needs to be target at them and fashionable to them too. Anything else is a bonus - they want something that will be liked by the surfers, and will promote the brand to the surfers.

The surf shop doesnt sell anything other than...well...SURF stuff!

I'm sure the big surf brands started off small as independent stores with a loyal 'in-sport' following before having success as a main stream brand. I wear some 'surf brand' clothes, but have ony ever tried surfing once!
