Hello: I'm new here.

Hey!

I've just signed up and I wanted to say a big, warm hello to everyone. I've been reading all your great discussions for a while and have finally plucked up the courage to start getting involved and contributing.

You seem like a friendly and knowledgeable bunch and it feels great to be apart of a community who likes to have a good natter about all things design.

Thanks,
Sophie

Hey Sophie!

Glad you decided to start getting involved! What sort of design work do you do (do you have a website?) and where are you based?

I look forward to seeing you around the forums more!

Hi guys,

Thank you so much for the lovely welcome! It feels great to be onboard.
I'm from Liverpool and I design mainly for digital i.e banners for websites and e-flyers etc
In my spare time I enjoy reading up on architecture and interior design, and always end up dragging friends to see architectural beauties/museums whenever I travel/visit a new city.

This is actually one of the reasons I decided to join, as it's great how you all discuss design as a whole rather than just focusing on one specialism.

Thanks again!

Welcome. We all know that the graphic design the best specialism though ;)

(Sorry Levi)
But graphic design isn't special anymore.... anyone with photoshop can do graphic design, I'm a specialist because I do 3D :p

(yes that is a joke)

And Hi Sophie
I've suspected that you were a little special for a while now ;)

Welcome to the forum SophSoph, feel free to post a link to some of your projects if you like.

I also hear that anyone with C4D or Studio Max is also a 3D specialist and anyone with a twitter account is a social media expert, and so the list could go on :D

Some people eh...

True, because you can't add an extra 0 on at the end when it's all printed...! that's what being a specialist is about... right? :p

Specialism in making money? Well in that case footballers are doing quite well - no specialism and making lots of money- true specialists! Right?

Back on topic: I hope we are not putting you off SophSoph, this is a truly special place, honestly! XD

I don't know, they have to go through dance school - that's not cheap - and presumably they get a lot of bruises from all that prancing, falling and rolling around on the floor "in agony" too, I think it's a lot more demanding than we could ever possibly imagine.
