Google continues to lose % of searchs for another month

@Tim
Hay as I know have to rush around like a mad man to get ready for my meeting I very quickly just came across this Tim and thought I would share as you asked about bing mobile %.

23 million US users of Bing Mobile
160 percent YoY query growth

Especially as google is doing the same with Andriod and Chrome.
Actually android is open to other search engines, bing/yahoo have definitely been used on some, not so sure bing in windows will be as open to being changed, also 90% of people wouldn't bother changing it.

I would assume chrome would be the same as google seem to have an 'open' (well more than most) philosophy to their os's

When installing chrome yesterday, it asked if I wanted to keep google as my default browser when I first opened it up. I clicked yes

well at least they ask, windows up until the ballot box didn't give an option with ie :)

Hay, sorry for my delay in replying kinda manic and yes Levi the ending sucked. :D
Just came across this and thought I would share:

Americans conducted 16.4 billion searches in June, up 3 percent from May. Google Sites accounted for 10.3 billion searches (up 1 percent), followed by Yahoo! Sites with 3.1 billion (up 7 percent), Microsoft Sites with 2.1 billion (up 8 percent), Ask Network with 584 million (up 1 percent), and AOL LLC with 368 million (up 2 percent).

What's is interesting is that Google actually increased in searches done by them, there goes the theory that people got stuck because of being made to switch, however the others increased by so much more that it was enough that they lost percentage of the market for another month, at least in the US anyway.

Also if you noticed Ask and Aol also had big gains, bigger than Google % wise and relative to their totals.

So hands up who's been searching for more porn than normal last month?
Tim?
At least you spread the searches out a little, which is nice.

Hay just came across this which may explain why Googles been losing share all year.
According to the 2010 American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) Google has dropped 7% in user satisfaction from last year to 80% (out of 100% :D).

Heres the 2010's Search Engine's ACSI:
Google - 80% down from 87% last year.
Bing - 77% first time recorded.
Yahoo! - 76%,
AOL - 74%,
and Ask.com - 73%.

Forseeresults accounts for Google's drop of 7% in satisfaction this year due to:
"Google may be suffering from trying to be too many things to too many people, but it still has the most loyal following with 80% of its users citing Google as their primary search engine," said Freed. "That said, Bing's first measure is impressive and could put some pressure on Google. The new search engine is already making gains in market share and using clever marketing and advertising to distinguish itself from the market leader
Cite: Same as above.

That also correlates nicely with the % of search share, so pretty big fall in user satisfaction put together with advertising from Bing and Ask equals more switches from Google to the others which = drop in search share for Google increase for the others. :)

Julys search share is in and Google is down again, Bing, Yahoo! and Ask all make gains.

July 2010:
  • Google - -0.22% (71.43%)
  • Bing - +0.01% (9.86%)
  • Yahoo! - +0.6% (14.43%)
  • Ask - +-0.13% (2.32%)

Other search engines account for less than 2% and this does not take into account searches done on Club.Live.com either so it could be putting Bing's down a bit.

But again it shows another drop, be it light, for yet another month in Googles search share and a gain in all the others.

Bare in mind last year Google had over 75% of all search share so thats a big drop in 1 year. :)
And yes Renniks my contract has been renewed for another month.

:D I wonder if it will plateau (percentage wise)
I'd expect it to unless there was a ground breaking change...
