give me some feed back about the two layouts attached

Not bad but one thing that really stick out like a sore thumb is the horrible dark, dull grey used in the menu and content background, really needs replacing with either another colour or brighten it up. Actually in general all the colours used are quite dull, brighten them all up and I think it would all look much better.
