Feedback for memento timeline of building

I was tasked to create a memento timeline design for the old military police training school building that was going to be replaced. Any feedback on how I could make the design better?

I think the circle idea sort of works, but it's made it difficult for you to form a cohesive grid, if you know what I mean.

I'm not keen on the years being seen upside down, for instance, and the images and text need to be more uniform I think.
