Fan trailers!

I've been hard at work for the last week on a few fan trailers for films, to act as a portfolio for a job that I applied for. Now that they're all done and uploaded to YouTube, I thought I may as well share them with you.
Spider-Man TV Spot (My personal favourite):

Spider-Man 2 TV Spot:

Dredd Trailer:

Special thanks must go to Tony for his help/advice on the graphics that I made, and to Chris Spooner, for his excellent Dredd Badge tutorial!

All I did was point you in the direction of a few things :)
I think what we should assess here is the order in which these were made, which was (from start to finish);

- Ghostbusters
- Dredd
- Spiderman 2
- Spiderman
And I think each one improves on the last. Maybe the Spiderman 2 trailer isn't quite as good as the Dredd one. Undecided on that. The short for Spiderman though is pretty decent and I'd definitely say was the best of the bunch.
One thing I noticed when comparing it to a few other TV teasers was what they've got that you haven't, is a bit more text to break it up. And a bit at the end that goes "in REAL 3D and IMAX" which would shave a couple of editing seconds off the actual filmy bit. (see how technical I am)
Also, steal from Abrams and add some Lens Flare. How did you resist doing an Avengers trailer?

You still helped, so thanks! :)

I'm not sure how I'd rank them, but I'd put the Spider-Man TV spot at the top. I'm not entirely happy with the Dredd trailer, but I think that's just cause I spent so long obsessing over it to make it perfect. And I've literally just realised I managed to forget to put one of my favourite shots in the Spider-Man 2 TV spot! D'oh!

Yeah, there's not as much text in mine as usual trailers. Maybe some release dates could've made them better, or 'COMING SOON'. You certainly are very technical. :p

I tried lens flare a few times, but could never get it to look right. It always ended up looking too cheesy, or fake. The little light effect in the Spider-Man TV spots was the best substitute I could find. And I did want to do an Avengers trailer, but the footage kept breaking my software, no matter how I transcoded it. It's a shame!
