Design for Malaysia

Hey all,

Hopefully I will soon be embarking on a logo design project that will be promoted to a Malaysian audience.

Having never been lucky enough to visit Asia I've done a bit of reading up on the culture and customs there. What I really need to know though is what their relationship is with certain colours and symbols, etc.

Has anyone else had experience of designing for any other Asian countries OR can suggest any good sources of information for this?

I worked in Kurcking Malaysian during one of my adventures overseas.
Quite honestly research on the net and books will see you ok.

Check out their government/tourism information websites, that's normally a good starting point to get the countries image from, or at least the official image they would like to be perceived as.
