Copyright Question

Hi everyone.

I have a question in regards to copyright infringement.

I have been thinking about setting up a small business selling sneaker themed mobile wallpapers. Click here to see the kinds of designs I have in the pipeline at the moment.

My question is, can I? I was thinking of selling these wallpapers at around 50p each, which in turn means I am profiting from their product and brand. All of the illustrations are 100% unique and created by myself, but they're still representations of another brands products.

I am aware of businesses existing which sell sneaker themed prints, wallpapers, posters, etc. Does anybody know whether they would have needed to obtain approval from each brand?

Thank you for your help.

Tom.

The basics of this are, you are selling on a brand that does not belong to you.

No, you cannot sell these without permission.

From what I can see the illustrations are good, so if you could produce work that's inspired by the sneaker designs but doesn't directly copy them, you might be able to get away with it. It's still a touchy subject though, and one I'd want to steer clear of myself.

I don't know.

I know someone who submitted some designs to Oakley and they gave him a lot of nice gifts.
