Chartwell Font

Paul, I appreciate you taking the time to reply, however your comment is rather presumptuous suggesting "pirate a font".

There are many fonts (not all) out there which also have free counterparts.

You specifically said "Does anyone know if/where I can get a free copy of Chartwell..."

The answer is no.

I don't think there was any intention by Paul to suggest that you were trying to pirate. But rather warn that piracy won't be accepted anywhere on the forums, even a suggest of it.

Anyway - I don't know of any fonts that do what Chartwell does...

It's a fantastic font and completely worth the purchase.

If you only have a 1 off chart to do - or a 1 off series, it's best to construct in Illustrator.

Actually - I don't like Illustrators chart building system.

I use Excel - export to PDF

Open that PDF in Illustrator and tidy it up and colour it appropriately.

One of the rare occasions I will open a PDF in Illustrator.

hope that helps

As far as I'm aware there are currently no free fonts that are an alternative to Chartwell. You can buy just one of the weights for £20, which is a really good price for a font, especially as this font serves a particular purpose and is intended to save you a lot of time. As I said, the alternative is to create your own visuals.
