Can you help test my site?

Ooh, I don't often post in here.. hello... Right, to the point.

I made a portfolio website. I rather like it, mostly. However:
Due to my complete lack of technical web development ability I made it with (wait for it) iWeb08 on my iMac.
Oh, and I also bought a URL to point at it. And hosted it on (for pure ease) MobileMe.

Now, it works fine when I view it on my iMac in Firefox or Safari.
But it's come to my attention that it grinds to a halt on a Windows machine running IE. I don't know what version, but I tested it out on an old WinXP Laptop I had dying under the bed and it does seem to be crap in IE, but not too bad in FF and Safari. I tried it on IE for Mac too... which pretty much keeled over and died!

So I'd like to ask a favour, can anyone with a spare moment or two go and visit http://www.jimalgar.com using whatever OS and browsers you're running and let me know how it runs? Please? Thanks.

Also, if it does turn out to be an issue with Internet Explorer... can it be fixed?
Can iWeb sites be uploaded to a normal hosting site? (and would that fix it).
(Any site crit would be cool too, but the main issue here is the technical crap-up... technical term)

Code:
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.me.com/st/1/sharedassets/2.0.4/Common/Scripts/Site/iWebSite.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="../Scripts/Widgets/SharedResources/WidgetCommon.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="../Scripts/Widgets/Navbar/navbar.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.me.com/st/1/sharedassets/2.0.4/Common/Scripts/Site/iWebImage.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.me.com/st/1/sharedassets/2.0.4/Common/Scripts/Site/iWebMediaGrid.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="../Scripts/Widgets/Slideshow/Slideshow.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="../Scripts/Widgets/PlayButton/PlayButton.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="../Scripts/Widgets/HeaderControls/localizedStrings.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="../Scripts/Widgets/HeaderControls/HeaderControls.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="../Scripts/Widgets/FooterControls/FooterControls.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="Portfolio_files/Portfolio.js"></script>

once you get past the frame - why is the frame there? Is it to show your sitefrom web.me.com on jimalgar.com? If it is why haven't you just used a blind redirect on your domain name?

I'd go with all the javascript being the issue. You've also got issues with the thumbs, they act different in ie to firefox (vista 64bit) - in firefox 3.6 they work per 8th of the image and only in that 8th where as on ie 8 they change image on each swipe.

The images are meant to "skim" when you move over the big thumbnail... like events in iPhoto.
As for the rest... I honestly don't know. The original URL for the site is http://web.me.com/jimalgar, if that helps diagnose things without the extra URL getting in the way.

frames can be a pita too so just go into your domain name control panel and do a redirect (hide actual web address if asked)to the address rather than using the frame approach.

Might make a difference

I thought that's what I'd done to be honest, but thanks Levi I'll take a look at it. Pita? Type of bread isn't it?

It's soooo sooo slow to load. It works fine though, nice rollover effect.

Did you design this site beforehand or did you just start messing around in iWeb? I understand that you're an illustrator but I don't quite like this all that much. Even for a minimal site, I think you can do much better than (more with) this. And don't worry about the coding, I'm sure that if you ask around on DF people will be more than willing to help out.

I don't wanna bring you down and such, but it is your portfolio we're talking about here.

I'm completely open to suggestion, onartis. It was mostly tinkering in iWeb with a little dash of planning. Still tinkering to be honest so don't be surprised by little alterations here and there. It is the first site I think I've ever actually made lol, but I do feel the design is lacking something.
