HI guys and gals,
Right I was tasked with doing some updates to a site. One of them was to convert a load of word documents to PDFs and stick them in a directory and add basic authentication to it.

This works fine in Firefox, but IE gives me a:
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Error when I click the link. Any ideas as I'm at a total loss?

I've added it in this case via Qubics hosting, as in I specific a user with a password, assigned them to a group, then assigned the group to be the ones to access the secure directory.

It (Qubic) adds a .htaccess file to the directory. Then when I use Firefox I get the basic authenticification pop up asking me for login details, I enter them and it sends me to the index file for the directory where I have listed all the PDFs.

When I try it in IE8 I just get a cant connect to the web page error and not even a pop up.

Hi Greg,
Thanks for the time, the issues has been resolved so this can be closed. My version of IE8 is messed up, it wont let me select drop downs for one and when we tested it in another version of IE8 it works fine.

But thanks for the time it is highly appreciated.

Jaz
