The successful candidate will follow the Level Three IT Apprenticeship. This is designed to give apprentices the skills to work in the Web/IT industry.

The Apprenticeship programme lasts one year, and on completion the apprentice will have gained valuable qualification and will be offered a full-time role.


JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Apprentice Web Developer
Reporting To: Web Developers
Job Location: Manchester, City Centre
Salary: £120 per week + Annual bonus
Holidays: 20 Days Holiday (plus Bank Holidays).


Main Purpose of Job

We are looking for someone with a keen interest in website design and development. You will be working as part of a small team. Your primary roles will be to communicate with team members and clients, and to ensure all day-to-day tasks are managed effectively.


Detailed Duties

1. Organising and managing day-to-day tasks effectively and efficiently.
2. Assisting with creating websites that look good, and convert well.
3. Assisting with updating existing websites.
4. Communicating regularly with other team members.
5. Communicating via email and telephone with clients, when required.
6. Providing basic support to a wide range of clients with the day to day running of their websites and emails.
7. Assisting with the management of projects from beginning to end. Including; initial contact, quotations, closing sales, development, amendments, signing off, marketing campaigns, updates and reviews.
8. Assisting with the management of outsourced developers, designers, illustrators, programmers, researchers, marketers (training will be given).
9. Assisting with setting up Adwords / SEO campaigns (training will be given).
10. Meeting agreed deadlines.

Please note that this list is not exhaustive and you may be required to undertake additional duties of a similar responsibility level as and when required.

Person Requirements

We are looking for someone who has a keen interest in website design and development. We want someone who has experience using computers and websites alike. We need someone with excellent communication skills and the desire to work hard, learn new things and develop their skill sets.

• Experience using Microsoft Office products (word and Excel)

• Experience sending emails
• Knowledge of the internet
• Good interpersonal skills.

• Not afraid to get involved in a project outside of a traditional skill set.

• Experience building website
• Experience creating graphics
• Dealing with customers (in person / via email / on the phone)
• Experience of Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Interest in coding websites
• Interest in design of websites
• Knowledge of search engines
• Sales experience.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Willingness to learn new skills and rise to new challenges.
• The persistence to work hard to achieve the best possible outcome.
• Experience of breaking down large projects into smaller tasks and prioritise them accordingly.

Apprentice Scheme

• Advanced Apprenticeship IT, Software, Web and Telecommunication Professionals
• Level 3 Diploma in ICT Professional Competence
• Level 3 Certificate in ICT Systems and Principles
• Functional Skill Application of Number Level 2
• Functional Skill Communication Level 2
• Functional Skill ICT Level 2
• Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)
