I would say some are worse and some are better.

I think most of the new ones are better, but yeah some are worse.

It depends who made the icon.
I like the ones with a monotone background
with a bit of a linear gradient and a logo stuck
on it. All the rest look pretty bad to me.

I would say that some of IOS6 are better and some of IOS7 are good.
The over all I would give 5 out of 10
