    Hi Guys,

I've tried to find an answer to this but I'm overwhelmed by the depth people go into when writing about copyright laws.

I'm working on a website which is currently © 2008 - Company Name.
Does it matter that it's 'out of date' or does it need to be updated yearly?

Any brief and precise info would be appreciated

    Cheers
    Steve

I had the impression it's a 'since' sort of marker.

This (whatever) was created and copyrighted on this date, and it carries forward from there.

Just guessing though. Copyright isn't really ironclad protection anyway.

Thanks Kray, would be interested to see if anyone else knows anymore. I just wanted to give an answer to the question 'why does your website say copyright 2008 and not 2010?'
