Exclamation Please Read Before Posting or Replying to Requests, VERY IMPORTANT T&C's!!

SUPPLIERS

A quick note to all suppliers responding to work requests, from 23/5/2011 no prices/quotes are to be posted on the public forum at all, these must be supplied via Private Message or E-Mail only. Any prices/quotes posted on the public forum will be deleted without warning or explanation.

I can't believe that I actually have to put this, however, any offers of design work for free will also be deleted without warning or explanation! This is not the place to bulk out your portfolio.

REQUESTS

We are a very friendly community, however, one thing that will annoy our members is to request free design work or state silly budgets that are below what a professional designer would normally charge, as an example if you are expecting to pay £50 for a professionally designed logo then this is not the place to ask.

We do not accept any requests for "free work" under any circumstances!

If you are going to state a budget please ensure it is acceptable for the job at hand, if in doubt just post your brief and ask for quotes. Please don't use words like "small budget", "not much money" and "not for profit organisation" as this will just put designers off dealing with you. The quote is what the quote is, if you can't afford it, save up or shop around.

Before making any work requests in this forum we suggest that you take a good read below...

FREE DESIGN WORK:
1) It is not clever to seek a student or beginner in an attempt to get design work for free. It’s ignorant and insulting. They may be students but that does not mean they don’t deserve to be paid for their hard work. Would you have taken that job at McDonalds with no pay, because you were learning essential job skills for the real world?

2) The chance for the designer to have their name on something that is going to be seen by other people is NOT a valid enticement in return for free design work. Neither is the right to add that work to their portfolio. They get to do those things anyway, after being paid as they should.

YOUR DESIGN BUDGET:
1) As with anything, you get what you pay for and graphic/website design is no different. A professional in either of these fields will charge a professional's fee. You all know the saying "you pay peanuts, you get monkeys", don't make this mistake, if you don't have an adequate budget now...save up and get the job done properly.

2) If you really have no idea how much a service will cost, and don't want to offend any of our designers by stating an unrealistic budget, just post your brief and request quotes, you can then make your decision after looking at said designer's portfolios. Please don't be swayed by price alone and ensure your chosen designer has a decent portfolio of work.

3) We receive regular requests on here for logo design, if your budget for a logo is £20>£100 then don't expect a professional to even entertain your request, it is possible to get a logo designed at this price and you may even get quotes in the region of this from our forum members, but at this price how much time do you honestly think will be spent on it? If you want to give customers a good first impression of your business then do not scrimp on logo design. It's amazing how businesses allocate a decent budget for their website, signage, printing etc and then expect a logo to cost next to nothing...they don't realise that their logo is the basis to all these things and hence one of the most important aspects to get right.

If you have not read this post and request free work then your post will be deleted without warning or explanation. If your request for free work is your first contribution to our forum then you will be banned as this is just plain rude, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED...in a nice way

Have a good look at these...
