Not sure if any of you have heard or not, but Twitter is launching paid for search....a whole new marketing avenue is opening up.

We'll just have to wait & see how much spam is generated & what it means as a user.

from what I can tell there has been a general uprising from the twitter population regarding these paid for tweets.

Like any business I guess they need revenue to keep on developing and growing.

Like Facebook ads, as long as they're pretty non-intrusive I don't mind. In the real world businesses need to make money and especially free services like Twitter they need a revenue stream.

As for advertisers, i'm not sure it will work for the small business, great for corporates who can chuck money about for brand/campaign awareness.
