Submitting website to Tiscali

Hi all

Can anyone tell me how to get my site submitted to Tiscali, Virgin Media, Sky and other small search engines?

I can get it listed on Google, Yahoo if you put in certain keywords but it doesn't appear on the above search engines powered by Google.

Any help would really be appreciated.

Also a question to the webdesign companies out there, did you teach yourself SEO, train to do it, or employ a professional to do that part for your clients?
